The Sun Parlour Female Hockey Association has been serving the community of Windsor & Essex County since its formation in 1993. It is a member of the Ontario Women's Hockey Association, the largest female hockey body in the world. SPFHA provides Southwestern Ontario with Competitive and House League hockey programs in LaSalle, Windsor, and Tecumseh. Our teams: SPFHA
The SPFHA is a non-profit organization with it's goals and objectives being:
- To promote the participation of girls in all aspects of female hockey.
- To stress and foster the development of goodwill, sportsmanship, and good citizenship amongst the members of this Association.
- To protect the mutual interests of each team and player affiliated with the Association.
- To ensure that its' participants are provided meaningful opportunities, enjoyable experiences in a safe sportsmanlike environment.
Our houseleague program has turned first year ankle skaters to well developed hockey players. Most of our houseleague girls end up joining tournament or travel teams. Our annual Day of Champions showcases our houseleague talent.
The "Home of the Windsor Wildcats" has been very successful in competitive play, winning 15 OWHA Ontario Provincial Championships, their first coming with the Novice B team in 1995. Our travel teams play in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League (LLFHL), and our house teams play in the Essex-Kent Girls Interlock Hockey League (EKGIHL).
Our premier competitive program in the P.W.H.L. - The Southwest Wildcats - showcases our top talent in the Southwestern Ontario region. This program offers elite players an opportunity to compete in one of Canada's top female leagues. For more information view: www.southwestwildcats.ca
Our annual House League tournament - The Windsor Wild Winter Tournament - attracts house league teams throughout Michigan and Ontario. The Windsor Wild Winter Tournament is one of Southwestern Ontario's premier house league tournaments. Participants always look forward to our tournament due to the number of teams participating and the southern climate found only in Windsor.
