First Shift Program Wraps Up
Sun Parlour Female Hockey First Shift Program Wraps Up a Successful 2025–2026 Season

The Sun Parlour Female Hockey Association is proud to celebrate the successful completion of our 2025–2026 First Shift Program, a six-week introduction to hockey designed to help young girls learn the game in a fun, supportive, and confidence-building environment.

From the initial equipment fitting event through the final on-ice sessions, we witnessed 38 girls take their first strides into the sport of hockey. Over the course of the program, participants learned new skills, gained confidence, developed a love for the game, and—most importantly—had fun every step of the way.

We are thrilled to share that more than 30 of these players will be continuing their hockey journey in our FUNdamentals Program, marking an exciting next step in their development.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Steve Pronger, our Coach Development Mentor, for introducing these players to the wonderful world of hockey and setting a strong foundation for their future growth. We would also like to recognize the Southwest Wildcat players for their outstanding support on the ice each week, serving as great role models and mentors.

To cap off the program, players enjoyed a post-practice celebration made possible by OG’s Pizza Banwell, whose generosity helped create a memorable end to an incredible experience.

We are excited to welcome our newest Windsor Wildcat players and their families to the SPFHA community. We look forward to supporting these athletes as they continue to learn, grow, and fall in love with the game through our FUNdamentals Program and beyond.

The future of female hockey in our community is bright! 🏒
